The residential design industry is constantly evolving, with designers pushing boundaries to create unique and captivating spaces. Mark Han, a renowned designer, has recently unveiled his latest masterpiece, Collectible. This residential project is not just a house; it is a treasure box that encapsulates the homeowner's memories and aspirations.
The living room area of Collectible is a testament to the owner's introverted taste, with a clean and concise impression of modern fashion style. Minimal furniture design creates an elegant and fresh ambiance, while the multi-functional space behind the sofa serves as a study room and studio. The layered texture adds depth and tension, elevating the overall aesthetic.
One of the standout features of Collectible is the mirrored door arch frame that defines the space segment before entering the public hall area. This innovative design overcomes the limitations of existing pressure beams and creates a gradual and progressive line of sight, enhancing the sense of depth and virtual reality.
The restaurant in Collectible showcases the use of marble on the side walls, with a rich plant texture in an emerald green base. This clever choice softens the hard marble and adds a touch of elegance. The corridor features soft flower paintings, creating a harmonious connection between different spaces and infusing life into every corner.
Collectible is a true reflection of the homeowner's passion for collecting art. Display cabinets are strategically placed behind the desk, showcasing treasures from around the world. These art pieces serve as the main visual wall, creating a wealth of textures and a space that exudes both sophistication and artistic charm.
The design team, led by Mark Han and Simon Lu, meticulously planned the layout of Collectible to create a modern and stylish atmosphere. The open layout of the public domain allows for a seamless flow between the study, living room, and kitchen areas. The independent porch area, constructed with black, white, gray, and low-chroma color lines, sets the tone for the entire house.
Collectible was brought to life in New Taipei City, Taiwan, in February 2020. The design process involved extensive research by GIA Design, focusing on creating a space that fosters interactions between family members and promotes emotional intimacy. The result is a home that radiates warmth and exclusivity.
Overcoming the challenges posed by the building's large beam body, the designer covered and modified the beams to create a visually appealing ceiling. Black mirror materials were used to extend the line of sight and draw attention to the beautiful scenery outside the window.
Collectible embodies the essence of modern home life and pays homage to the natural landscape. The intertwining of simple lines creates a delicate balance between strength and gentleness. Each material used in the design represents artistic heritage and the artistic conception of life.
Collectible has garnered recognition in the design community and was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2021. This prestigious award acknowledges the outstanding creativity and resourcefulness demonstrated in the design, as well as its contribution to improving the quality of life.
Mark Han's Collectible is a testament to the power of design in creating spaces that not only reflect personal stories but also inspire and elevate the human experience. It is a true masterpiece that combines art, architecture, and innovation to create a lifestyle that is truly unique and unforgettable.
